Official Statement
The Canarian National Congress (CNC),
independence party of this Spanish colony in Africa, congratulates the people
and the masses of the Egyptian population who have achieved in the streets
through peaceful demonstration, the downfall of the corrupt dictator Hosni
Mubarak and his family, opening the doors to a democratic future and a social
revolution on the holy soil of millennium Egypt.
The Egyptian dictator, who has forced himself on the people for thirty
years, has finally fallen, as a consequence of and following the example of the
Tunisian revolution, where the people arrived on the streets in a peaceful
manner, to vindicate their just and legitimate national rights and to found
democracy in the country of Massinissa.
The historical lesson that the Egyptian people have given to other
African and Arab peoples is another milestone which will motivate other
oppressed peoples above all on our continent. There have been hundreds of
victims, but victory has been won and those of us who have been fighting for
centuries, like the Canarian people, to gain our independence from the Spanish
Crown with all the pertinent rights, salute these victories of the Tunisian and
Egyptian people. These victories give the fighters for independence in the
Canarian Archipelago new strength and courage in their battle against the
Spanish Crown.
The Egyptian people must now consolidate their new found democracy and
achieve a multi-party, multi-ethnic, multi-religion and true democracy in the
Holy soil of the cradle of civilisation!
