Why do we demonstrate?
We
demonstrate against the present day canarian people situation with the 27%
unemployment rating, the longer hours of work and the lowest earnings, the
highest school-drop out and the most expensive cost of foodstuffs with regard to
Spain and the rest of Europe data. Despite of all of these consequences, The
Canary Islands have produced a gross national product superior to 40.000
millions of euros, however, they are at the bottom on the Spanish Metropolitan
budgetary partition, and therefore they are on the second place with lesser
annual income among the seventeen autonomy communities. Nevertheless, we are not
here for weeping buckets to the Spanish Government but to call on the people to
claim our right for emancipation, thus it is that this situation, including the
Canarian economic crisis, is a product of the former Spanish colonialism.
For
this reason, in this crisis period, we demonstrate in favour of bringing about
changes in our society and in our people. Although other European colonies, as
Caribbean islands, Guadalupe and Martinique, other ultra
peripheral
regions and French colonies on the same situation that the Canary Islands, have
hold a mass meeting for more than a month long, have also echoed around all the
world and checking the French government. Why do not the Canarian people
demonstrate against this situation? We must fight now to change this situation.
What do we want?
We
ask for dignifying our nation. We want our people become aware of the realities
of our history, economics, politics and culture, to be able of building among us
a social and economic policy that lead us to decolonization and independence, to
achieve our sovereignty and then to treat any country as an equal with all the
nations around the world. We do not want to create more barriers; on the
contrary, we want to tear down all those that avoid our development and our
integration with the rest of the nation around the world. We want to regenerate
and build the importance of the national and social consciousness of which we
lack and we are so much in need of. A country without fatherland and motherland
is orphan because the fatherland is what make us different from other countries.
A country without nation has no frontiers, therefore it runs the risk, and it is
in danger of disappearing as such a country.
Consciousness–raising?
Yes.
We think about, beforehand, our people must bring up and achieve knowledge to
avoid being handling.
Historical consciousness:
To know much more about the
Social consciousness:
To understand and acquire social consciousness to realize which factors brings
about social inequality and how mitigates them.
Policy consciousness:
we are the country, and we, as part of the society, must and have to practise
policy day by day, to join forces and do not delegate our responsibility just of
voting every four years.
National Consciousness: We
have to be conscious that the canary people have been for centuries greeting and
getting into touch with all kind of people from other countries and
nationalities. Nevertheless, we must be also conscious of our cultural origin
differences with regard to others. Our cultural origins come from the
guanche-amazigh and we are the heirs of it and the representatives for keeping
it up alive.
Economic Consciousness:
We have to realize why are we in economic crisis and why is this crisis a part
of the economic policy imposed on the
Who are going?
All
the people who want the much better canary islands, for this reason all the
politics independista collectives and all the supporter of the movement for
independence are behind the same banner because all are together fighting for
this country.
