Official Statement

   The MPAIAC (Canary Islands Independence Liberation Movement) and their political arm, the Canarian National Congress (CNC), greets in this 25 of May of 2009, the 46 anniversary of the birth of the OAU in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis-Abeba, in 1963, where the Heads of State of Africa met and swore to fight for the liberation of our African continent until their complete decolonization. 

   They have passed 46 years and Africa continues being colonized by the old colonizers, Spain and France.  The African governments have been forgotten that, while a parcel of our continent continues in the hands of colonialism Africa will not be the free continent who swore to defend the founders of the Organization of African Unity.  The old Spanish colonial empire continues colonizing Canary Islands since six centuries ago and continues possessing islands and enclaves in the north of Morocco:  Islas Chafarinas, Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera , Peñón de Alhucemas and Perejil Island, as well as the harbor cities of Melilla and Ceuta without the government of Rabat do the necessary  to recover them as it corresponds to an original sovereign state of the OAU.  Also Réunion Island , strategic island near Madagascar , continues in the hands of the French colonialism just like an island of the independent archipelago of Comoras, without the independent African States protest due to the great economic and political relations with the colonial France that covers to many of poisoned charity. 

   Better not to speak of Canary Islands, where the Spanish monarchy has managed to be establishing a conspiracy of silence and buying African independent governments with promises and aids to be able to continue controlling this African archipelago, which goes against the sacrosanct principles of the OAU and against the desires of millions of Africans that have given its lives to see one day a free Africa of colonialists and know the badly enormous that has been doing Spain in Africa since six centuries ago with the traffic of slaves for its colonies of America. Spain never ended the traffic of slaves like the other European countries since until 1897 was importing African slaves for its colony of Cuba .

   It is hour to return to the principles of the OAU that the AU abandoned.  Nowadays people only thinks in the business with the old colonialists while Africa follows colonized, with the dangers that it means for the future of our continent. The European governments have put these colonies into the hands of a military pact, the NATO, so that they serve of base to future interventions against the African continent, the richest one in raw materials of the world.
